Our website https://hsla.org.uk uses cookies.
1. If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
By default WordPress (the Content Mangement System used by us) does not collect any personal data about visitors, and only collects the data shown on the User Profile screen from registered users.
2 About cookies
3.1 A cookie is a file containing an identifier (a string of letters and numbers) that is sent by a web server to a web browser and is stored by the browser. The identifier is then sent back to the server each time the browser requests a page from the server.
3.2 Cookies may be either “persistent” cookies or “session” cookies: a persistent cookie will be stored by a web browser and will remain valid until its set expiry date, unless deleted by the user before the expiry date; a session cookie, on the other hand, will expire at the end of the user session, when the web browser is closed.

3.4 Cookies can be used by web servers to identify and track users as they navigate different pages on a website and identify users returning to a website.

MEMBER PRESS
MemberPress uses the following cookies (only if the mentioned features are being utilised), however, neither cookie contains any personal information, nor can it be combined with other data to create a profile of an individual.
Note: WordPress itself also uses cookies which you should be aware of and account for in your policies.
mplk- We use the Custom URI Rules to protect static files ( PDF’s in Members’ Resources), MemberPress creates a cookie temporarily to allow the authorised user to view the file without being redirected. This cookie contains a random alpha-numeric string of text and is removed after 5 seconds.
EVENTS
We use Google services to generate maps and provide autocompletion when searching for events by location, which may collect data via your browser in accordance to Google’s privacy policy.
We collect and store information you submit to us when making a booking, for the purpose of reserving your requested spaces at our event and maintaining a record of attendance.
We may use cookies to temporarily store information about a booking in progress as well as any error/confirmation messages whilst submitting or managing your events and locations.
5. Blocking cookies
5.1 Most browsers allow you to refuse to accept cookies; for example:
(a) in Firefox you can block all cookies by clicking “Tools”, “Options”, “Privacy”, selecting “Use custom settings for history” from the drop-down menu, and unticking “Accept cookies from sites”; and
(b) in Chrome you can block all cookies by accessing the “Customise and control” menu, and clicking “Settings”, “Show advanced settings” and “Content settings”, and then selecting “Block sites from setting any data” under the “Cookies” heading.
5.2 Blocking all cookies will have a negative impact upon the usability of many websites.
5.3 If you block cookies, you will not be able to use all the features on our website.
6. Deleting cookies
6.1 You can delete cookies already stored on your computer; eg:
(a) in Firefox you can delete cookies by clicking “Tools”, “Options” and “Privacy”, then selecting “Use custom settings for history” from the drop-down menu, clicking “Show Cookies”, and then clicking “Remove All Cookies”; and
