Nominations will close on 22 December and furt her guidance on the nomination process will follow.\nIn recent years there have been fines of £20 million and £90 million in environmental prosecu tions against water companies\, the levels of which we are yet to see in h ealth and safety cases. Do these cases show the way that health and safety fines against Very Large Organisations might go? Do they now set a new ba r? What can we learn from the Courts’ approach to sentencing in these ca ses and corporate offending that we need to take into our health and safet y practice?\n \;\nJoin the HSLA for a discussion with an expert panel of barristers who practice in this area to discuss.\n \;\n\nThe panel event will be followed by the opening of nominations to stand for HSLA com mittee positions. He regular ly represents the Environment Agency and has acted in some of the most hig h profile environmental pollution cases where large fines have been impose d.\n\nLisa Roberts KC\, Lincoln House Chambers\n\n\n\n \;\n\n \;\n \n \;\n\n \;\n\nLisa specialises in criminal and regulatory law\, inquiries and advisory work including for utility companies and large publ ic bodies. She took silk in 2015 and is consistently ranked in the Legal 5 00 and Chambers and Partners as a leading silk. She regularly represents a number of water companies including the UK’s largest water company\, Th ames Water.\n\nDominic Kay KC\, Crown Office Chambers\n\n\n\n \;\n\n&n bsp\;\n\n \;\n\n \;\n\nDominic is a specialist regulatory law prac titioner and is one of a very small number of King’s Counsel to be liste d by the legal directories as a leading individual in each of his three ar eas of practice: Health &\; Safety\, Environmental Law and Inquests &am p\; Inquiries.
