The Speakers:

Gerard Forlin KC

Gerard Forlin KC, BL (Ireland) of Cornerstone Barristers in London and State Chambers in Sydney, has a broad practice covering civil, criminal and commercial litigation; environment; fire; corporate governance (including bribery and corruption); major event planning & crowd safety; state, ceremonial and historical events; crisis management; health and safety; aviation; inquests and inquiries; local authority governance and services; and regulatory law. Described in Chamber UK Bar 2024 as a “phenomenal court advocate”, Gerard is known globally in his various fields of practice having worked in over 65 countries, one of only a tiny handful of London barristers to have ever achieved this. In the Legal 500 (2024) directory he is ranked in health and safety, aviation, and inquests & inquiries – the only barrister in the UK to have that combination. In May 2023, he was named England’s regulatory barrister of the year by the Global 100.

Keith Morton KC

Keith Morton KC of Temple Garden Chambers has a long-established practice in the fields of health and safety, inquests, public inquiries and related proceedings. He is recognised as a leading practitioner in these fields. He has been instructed in some of the most significant health and safety cases, inquest and inquiries in recent years. He represents and advises clients ranging from individuals to SMEs, public bodies and large multi-national corporations. In October 2017, he was named ‘Health & Safety Silk of the Year’ at the Chambers & Partners UK Bar Awards, for which he has also been short-listed on two other occasions. More generally, Keith’s practice also encompasses administrative law (especially related to his practice areas) and civil common law with a particular focus on personal injury. He is accustomed to dealing with complex civil litigation.”
