 etween Local Authorities and the HSE
DESCRIPTION:This presentation will look at the current co-regulatory relati
 onship between Local Authorities and HSE and the challenges in delivering 
 improved outcomes for health and safety across Great Britain\, including m
 ajor changes that have taken place to Local Authority inspection and enfor
 cement\, implications for HSE and possible future models for making best u
 se of our regulatory resource.\n\nThe Speaker is Philip White who joined H
 SE as a Factory Inspector in 1985 and has experience of regulating a broad
  range of industries. Philip has held senior operational and policy roles 
 in HSE including Head of HSE’s Operational Strategy Division and Chief I
 nspector of Construction. Philip has experience of working elsewhere in Go
 vernment including a secondment to the Department for Work and Pensions he
 ading up the Health and Safety Sponsorship Team\, advising Government Mini
 sters on health and safety at work policy and the work of the HSE. His cur
 rent role\, Director Regulation includes responsibilities for HSE’s oper
 ational divisions. \n\nThe event is chaired by Simon Joyston-Bechal who is
  a director of Turnstone Law. He has 25 years of experience as a solicitor
  and he specialises in regulatory defence work. He is widely regarded as o
 ne of the UK’s leading health &amp\; safety lawyers. Simon is chair of t
 he HSLA Thought Leadership &amp\; Public Affairs Committee.\n\nThis event
