You are invited to attend the HSLA annual conference and dinner on Friday 22nd November in the superb surroundings of Fishmongers’ Hall. This is a fabulous event and we do hope that you can join us. The event is open to both members and non-members. The programme for the conference is:
- Panel Discussion on wellbeing, stress and mental health and the future of its regulation. The panel will be made up of experts from industry and regulators who will include, Dr Paul Litchfield CBE, FRCP Chair of the UK’s What Works Centre for Wellbeing, Joscelyne Shaw Director of Strategy of Mates in Mind, Ruth Denyer Group Risk Director at ITV and Peter Brown, Head of Health and Work Programme at HSE. The panel will be chaired by Mary Lawrence of Osborne Clarke and Amy Sadro of Eversheds Sutherland.
- Seminar – Safety Regulation of Public Service Vehicles and Freight Undertakings. We are delighted to welcome Richard Turfitt, Senior Traffic Commissioner for Great Britain, who will speak about this interesting and unusual subject.
- Panel/Seminar – Advising public authorities and enforcers on investigations, inquest and inquiries. Fiona Canby of Temple Garden Chambers, Saba Naqshbandi of Three Raymond Buildings and Oliver Carlyon of Fieldfisher will use the Litvinenko case and the London Bridge attack to provide some insights. There will opportunity for Q & A.
- Seminar – Case law and sentencing update. James Leonard of Outer Temple Chambers and Deanna Heer of 5 Paper Buildings are the speakers for your annual round up.
The Dinner. HSLA is delighted to welcome Prashant Popat QC to be the after dinner speaker. Many of you will know Prashant who is a leading specialist in the areas of product liability and health & safety. We anticipate that his speech will be brief, entertaining and lighthearted! The price includes wine. The tables take 10/11 people. Refunds: If you are unable to attend the event, HSLA cannot offer a refund but you may send a substitute. If the substitute is not a member of HSLA then they can either join HSLA and attend at the member rate or attend as a non-member and pay the additional amount.
