From 2026 we have decided to move forward with a tiered membership structure as the first major step in a drive to attract a greater number of junior members with a significant interest in health and safety law.
This change of structure will have no impact for the majority of our members but we hope will encourage those who are earlier in their careers to join the association.

How to renew/join as an individual
Click the appropriate button above. This will take you to our secure payment page via Stripe.
If you are an existing member, please log in and this will prefill the required profile fields. However, you will need to update the ‘Date of Call/PQE’ field.
- Membership is activated on receipt of payment.
- New members will receive an email with your login details.
- Existing members continue to use your current login details.
Group/Firm/Chambers Memberships for Two or More Members
To request group membership, please email admin@hsla.org.uk with the subject line “Group Membership.”
Please include the following information:
- The name of the organisation/chambers/firm to be invoiced and the email address of the person administering the group membership.
- The number of memberships required for your Group/Firm/Chambers. eg 14 members, 4 Silk/Partner, 5 Junior/Associate 7+ PQE, 3 Junior/Associate 0-7 PQE, 2 Pupil/Trainee
An invoice for the specified number of members at the appropriate rate per member will be issued via Stripe to the provided email address.
Full instructions will be sent on how to administer and manage group memberships.
