About International Women’s Day
International Women’s Day (IWD) has been observed for over a century, as have many of the issues still impacting women’s advancement. Since 1911, IWD has belonged to all who care about gender equality.
While the theme is International Women’s Day, this event is open to all genders and all levels of qualification and experience. We believe everyone has something to learn and something to share, and that meaningful progress comes from inclusive dialogue, shared perspectives and putting health first.

Give to Gain
When we give, we gain. Together, let’s help build gender equality through giving.
The IWD 2026 Give to Gain campaign encourages a mindset of generosity and collaboration. It emphasises the power of reciprocity and support – when people, organisations, and communities give generously, opportunities and support for women increase.
When women thrive, we all rise.
Whether through knowledge, resources, visibility, advocacy, education, training, mentoring, or time, contributing to women’s advancement helps create a more supportive and interconnected world.
